What is Giclée?
Giclée is an art reproduction process involving photography of an original work of art, a proofing process, and the creation of long-lasting, pigment-ink prints on archival artist papers or canvas.
Giclée offers many advantages over the traditional lithographic printing process, with the main difference being excellent reproduction quality and longevity.
Traditional lithography is a four-color process. Giclée printers use a larger number of more permanent inks applied with digital precision. Smaller print runs are possible, and prints can be made on a variety of archival papers, canvas and even silk. If properly framed and displayed out of direct sunlight, Giclée prints will last for more than one hundred years.
