THE BLANCHE AMES NATIONAL JURIED ART EXHIBIT 2011
FILE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SHOW CATALOG

Congratulations on your inclusion in the BANJAE Show and catalog!  The following information will hopefully make it easy to submit your files for the catalog.

  • Files can be emailed or burned to CD and sent in an envelope not larger than 5x7 inches to:

    • Steve Gyurina
      Artopia Giclée
      99 Washington Street, Suite 205
      Melrose, MA 02176
  • Minimum file requirements for best reproduction in the catalog is 5x7 inches at 300 dpi. Files saved as Tiffs are preferable for printing but I can work with jpeg files too. If you see an option while saving or sending your files that asks if you want to include your color profile, please check it yes.
  • Both tiffs and jpegs can be emailed as long as the file size is under 10 megabytes. I'll send a confirmation when I receive your emailed image. Since emailing is so easy compared to burning a file t o CD, try that first.
  • Please send the best possible images you can of your work, cropping out edges that you don't want to print.
  • If I think your image can be improved for reproduction purposes, I'll make appropriate corrections and email the revised image back for your approval.
  • IMPORTANT: Name files as follows:   last-name_first-name_title_medium_size.jpeg   (example: Stanley_Jason_Field_of_Dreams_Watercolor_24Wx30H.jpg)
  • Please use only letters, numbers and underlines in the title-other characters may make the file unreadable.
  • When emailing or sending your files, make sure to include your address, email and telephone number. I may need to contact you if there are problems with your file.
  • Please send only copies of your original files, not your original CD.
  • Retouching, scanning, photography, complex file work is available. Please ask for a quote.

About

I worked with graphic designer David Ireland on the 2010 BANJE catalog. David designed the cover and the general look of that catalog and I was responsible for preparing the images for printing, layout and taking it to press. Since my core business is giclée art reproduction, I'm used to tweaking images and had previously worked on print projects with several other designers. I did the photography and image preparation for catalogs on the works of Cy Twombly and Richard Diebenkorn, a book on the paintings by Robert Keighton and several family histories. I've also photographed paintings, sculpture, jewelry and crafts for hundreds of different artists over the past twenty years (www.stevegyurina.com). Last year's catalog was an apparent success, so I've been asked to help out again.

Giclée and Postcards

I have gotten an inquiry about my giclée services from a BANJE show artist. If these services are of interest to you as well, please check out the rest of my website by clicking here. If there is sufficient interest, and the the show sponsors grant me permission to do so, I would be willing to bring my capture system to the Ames Estate so that your work can be captured for giclée printing. For a free 4x5 sample of my giclée printing on watercolor or smooth fine art paper, or on canvas, made from the image you've submitted, please include your address and media preference with your submission and I'll send you a print.

I can also make postcards from the images you've submitted - in very small or larger quantities. Please contact for a quote.
